Notes

Short notes on the craft.

A few thoughts on how the work gets made. What a listing really needs, and what it takes to photograph a building well.

A listing needs more than photographs

Photos open the door. But a buyer scrolling at midnight decides in seconds, and stills alone rarely close that gap. Video walks them through the space. Drone gives them the lot, the street, the trees. A 3D tour lets them stand in the room. Listing media is the whole package, because the whole package is what moves the property.

Shooting a building the way it was drawn

An architect spends years on proportion, light, and line. Most photography flattens all of it. Good architectural work is patient. It waits for the hour the light agrees with the design, frames to the geometry instead of fighting it, and hands the team images that look like the thing they actually built.
